About the Programme

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of society, social institutions, culture, social change, social problems, gender relations, and research methods. The programme explores the structure and functioning of Indian society while introducing students to classical and contemporary sociological theories.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Students from any stream (Arts, Science or Commerce) are eligible to apply.
  • Admission shall be granted according to university and college norms.
  • Applicants must fulfill all eligibility requirements prescribed by the affiliating university.

Attendance Requirements

  • Students must maintain the minimum attendance prescribed by the University.
  • Regular participation in lectures, tutorials, seminars and field-based activities is mandatory.
  • Attendance shortages may affect eligibility for examinations and internal assessments.

Assessment & Evaluation
